Alberto Ricca is Bienoise: laptop composer, teacher, and sound artist currently researching the meaning beyond broken interfaces.
Born in the VCO, Alberto still lives there.
His latest albums are THIS MEANING TODAY and MOST BEAUTIFUL DESIGN, both released by Mille Plateaux, and TO BE BANNED FROM ROME, released on the curatorial label of C2C Festival.
They are the backbones of his current shows.
In 2018, he authored with Annamaria Ajmone his first contemporary dance performance, TO BE BANNED FROM ROME - the Main Theme from the show is the iconic "changeover anthem" released by C2C Festival; today, he frequently collaborates with the movement research project Parini Secondo and with the choreographer Jacopo Jenna.
He curates a selection of sounds that are music if you want them to be, called NON MUSICA, on Radio Raheem.
He teaches live electronics performance and synthesis at IED Milano.
In 2014, he's been in Tokyo with Red Bull Music Academy.
He collaborated as Artistic co-Director at the first edition of NeXTones festival, and as Cultural Manager Assistant at Club TO Club 2015.
In 2014, after his degree in Media Studies at Cattolica in Milan and the master in music composition for the cinema at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, he completed his bachelor in Electronic Music and Sound Technologies at the Como Conservatory.
His thesis was 'New Musical Forms: The Remix, aesthetic, techniques, instruments'.
He also took courses in MaxMSP programming with TOBOR EXPERIMENT, and piano and composition with Roberto Olzer.
He's one of the founders of FLOATING FOREST, an improvised music label based in northern Italy, publishing artists such as Davide Merlino, Achille Succi, Pasquale Mirra, Sabir Mateen, Garrison Fewell and many others.

TO BE BANNED FROM ROME (2018) by Annamaria Ajmone and Alberto Ricca investigates the web's virtual spaces, inhabited by people that share the same passions and obsessions, the ambivalent effect that the web exerts over people that use it as an instrument to build a clique of ideal contacts around them.
